I have downloaded several of the tracks here and cannot install them, it comes up with a box that has several errors. The file is there and I can click on the track, but when I hit it to race, it comes up with a map problem.....I get the files in .rar form, aren't they suppossed to be self installing??? Some I get are, some are not, none that I have gotten from you are. I get the self installing ones elsewhere and they work fine.......I am frustrated and thinking of just going back to nr2003, but will give it one more try.

WhiteClown OFFLINE Simulanteninventar Beiträge: 2869	Hi. Tracks downloaded from here are not self installing,you have to copy them in your rfactor folder. Or you can download the Autoupdater from this site, this prog will install all mods,cars and tracks by itself. Just look to the download section. Greetz

Rennsimulant OFFLINE Simulanten-Irrer Beiträge: 99195	You possibly didn´t install to the correct folder. In our archives the structure is as follows: Gamedata\locations\trackXY so you´ll either have to extract the whole thing to your main rFactor folder or you have to browse inside the archive and extract the trackXY folder to your locations folder inside your rFactor.

Rennsimulant OFFLINE Simulanten-Irrer Beiträge: 99195	My only problem with the auto installer is I do not have internet at my home, so I download onto a stick drive and then download to my computer at home, I have gotten the 32 bit 7-zip, and I'll try that and also look for the xy folder.....I will try these....Thanks for the advice, let you know Monday!!

WhiteClown OFFLINE Simulanteninventar Beiträge: 2869	7zip is only the program to unextract the rar. You have to download the track and unextract it to a folder of your choice.mostly after unextracting you should get a folder called "gamedata". This folder you have to copy and paste to your rfactor main folder ("C:/programs/rfactor" for example).

Rennsimulant OFFLINE Simulanten-Irrer Beiträge: 99195	so white clown, will the method you spoke of earlier work without the internet or is 7-zip my best option, and when I use 7-zip, can I just unload it right to the locations folder?? Thanks!!

If you don´t have inet at home,your only choice is to put the rars on your stick and extract them.

Which extractor you use is your choice (7zip or Winrar are much the same).

Also the "How to" is the same:

1. download the track in rar-form
2. extract it with an extractor of your choice (7zip or Winrar) in a folder of your choice
3. Copy and paste it to your rfactor main folder

For example the track "a1-Ring" from this site

after you downloaded it and after extracting you get a folder called "gamedata". This folder you only copy to your rfactor main folder (if asked to overwrite type "yes").

After that you should be able to use the track in game.
