After downloading and installing AutoUpdater, when I try to run GTR2 AutoUpdate or rFactor AutoUpdate, i immediately get this in a browser window:

"Hello Autoupdate user,
It looks like you did not install Python as Administrator and some runtime files were not installed.
To fix this you could install Python again as Administrator or using the shell and install Python with the command:
runas /user:Administrator "msiexec /i <path>\python-2.7.9.msi".

Alternatively you can download and install the runtime files from Microsoft which comes with an installer.
VC++ 2008 Runtime and VC++ 2008 Runtime SP1 "

I have tried all the suggestions in the message, but the result is the same. BTW, Altbierbude autoupdater still works fine.

Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

Hey ettenw,
have you tried to uninstall the Updaters and reinstall as administrator completely? You don't need to delete the archive files.
Which Windows is running on your system?

I am running Windows 7, 64 bit.

I uninstalled the updater and I uninstalled Python. Then I ran the downloaded Rennsimulanten_UpdSyn_WebInst.exe as administrator.

The new version of Altbierbude Updater runs fine. When I try the GTR2 updater, I get the same error as originally posted.

Thanks for your help.

Ok, ehm, so i dont have any more suggestions... have Win7 64 too. After uninstalling the old PBB-Updater and installing the Rennsimulanten-Updater as an Admin it works fine. I hope our PC-Superheroes can help you...

Just to point it out: Altbierbude Updater and our Updater have very little in common.
